WRs The Steelers Should Think about Trading For Before the Trade Deadline:

Updated: 2 days ago

The Pittsburgh offense has arguably been the best it's looked since the Triple B Days (Big Ben, Antonio Brown, and LeVeon Bell).

Steelers QB, Aaron Rodger is off to a hot start, their weapons are quickly gaining chemistry, and the Steelers Offense as a whole looks good.

What would make their offense even better though is if they were to trade for another WR.

I'm not going to lie, I think if Pickens gave Pittsburgh a chance or the opposite way around, I think both parties would have been satisfied as George Pickens has been thriving in the Dallas Cowboys offense.

The Steelers could definitely use another WR to take the team as a whole to a new level. Here are 3 WRs the Steelers should consider trading for before the 2025 Deadline.

  1. Calvin Ridley

  2. Hollywood Brown

  3. Brian Thomas Jr

Calvin Ridley and Cam Ward seemed like a match made in Fantasy Football Heaven. People thought they would immediately hit it off right off the bat, but it just hasn't seemed like it's worked out. I believe if Ridley is traded to the Steelers we could see an immediate impact for him on the Steelers especially under a veteran QB.

Hollywood Brown was able to help get the Chiefs through a tough time when Xavier Worthy was out due to injury early this season and Rashee Rice was suspended for the first 6 games. Now with Rice and Worthy back in the picture, Mahomes and company has more than enough mouths to feed on the field. It would not surprise me with the likes or Rice, Worthy, Thornhill as well a Kelce and Noah Gray as options in the receiving game, that they might be willing to let Brown go. I feel like Brown would be the speed option they've been looking for and could be another former Ravens player the Steelers recruit to their team.

Brian Thomas Jr. has been struggling with the Jaguars in his second year with the team. With Trevor Lawrence back on the forefront, the chemistry really hasn't been there. Plus, with Travis Hunter's first breakout game vs the Rams, he looks given his 8 reception performance, he might have officially won over the WR1 spot for the team. Given his lackluster play and the downgrade to his position, it might be time that teams come calling BTJ's name. If teams do, I think Brian could connect better and benefit from having a more experienced QB with Rodgers.

Overall, I think in order to elevate their game, the Steelers need a real WR2 in the mix. These 3 players haven't been talked about as trade candidates for the Steelers or any other teams, but given both these players performances and circumstances on their current teams, it would not surprise me if someone comes calling their names and is willing to give them a chance. I just hope that team calling would be the Steelers.
