WR Jerry Jeudy's Fantasy Value in 2020

Updated: Aug 13, 2021

I really like the Denver Broncos 2020 first round draft pick. To me WR Jerry Jeudy was the best reciever in this stacked draft class, so the Broncos got a steal with him being the number 15 overall pick.

If you don’t know, the Alabama product has been praised for his route running ability, elusiveness, and playmaking ability. His last two seasons at Bama Jeudy won the CFB's best WR award in 2018 and was in the conversation for it for 2019.

Because of the above reasons, Jeudy is slated as an immediate impact player and weapon for the Broncos offense to utilize right away.

Jeudy will start as the Broncos WR2 alongside Courtland Sutton.

Together, I feel like Courtland and Jeudy could be a great WR duo in the league and I am very excited to see him go to place where he could thrive. This is especially since the Broncos have really made strides this offseason to put together a better offensive unit.

In terms of fantasy performance this season, I am expecting big things from him as a rookie.

Not only because of his talent and his stats in college (2018- 68 receptions, 1,315 yards, 14 TDs; 2019-77 receptions, 1,163 yds, 10 TDs), but also because of consistency of start products that get turned out from Big Time SEC schools especially from a school like Alabama.

Think about all the products they have turned out from Bama alone. Julio Jones, Amari Cooper, and most recently Calvin Ridley. All three of these guys had success in the SEC. Usually if a player can do that, there's a great chance they do well at the next level. Right now just from this year alone, Jeudy (as well as his former Bama teammate and first round draft pick of the Las Vegas Raiders, WR Henry Ruggs) get the chance to do the same this season.

With Sutton as the number 1 target, defenses will look to cover him over Jeudy which should give him more opportunitities in the passing game. I wouldn’t put all my eggs in his basket as a WR1, but I think he could definitely be a solid WR2 by the end of the season.

For now look for him as a valid flex play in fantasy for both PPR and Standard leagues.

He has a tough test week 1 vs the Titans defense, but if I had him on my team I’d take a chance and start him in standard leagues and Ppr leagues.

2020 stat prediction:

65 receptions 1,000 yds, 6 TDs
