Yes, Fantasy Football might over, but not Daily Fantasy!
For those who don’t know, “Daily fantasy sports (DFS) are a subset of fantasy sport games. As with traditional fantasy sports games, players compete against others by building a team of professional athletes from a particular league or competition while remaining under a salary cap, and earn points based on the actual statistical performance of the players in real-world competitions. Daily fantasy sports are an accelerated variant of traditional fantasy sports that are conducted over short-term periods, such as a week or single day of competition, as opposed to those that are played across an entire season. Daily fantasy sports are typically structured in the form of paid competitions typically referred to as a "contest"; winners receive a share of a pre-determined pot funded by their entry fees” (Wikipedia).
You should start these players for Draft Kings $3 NFL 1 Million Play Action contest this weekend starting Saturday, January 16th2021. (NOTE: Contest type is $50,000 auction- you pay fake money ($50,000 is fake) to buy players, but you must pay real money fee for contest entry -in this case the $3 entry)
.
At QB, Im going with Drew Brees at $5,600.
My reasoning:
-Brees will be looking to put up a show against Brady this week. (seeing how they rank #1 and #2 on the all time QB list)
-Tampa Bay’s secondary has struggled vs top WRs this week which should give Brees an edge
- Plus, if Taylor Heinicke ( fill in QB for Washington Football Team last week vs Buccaneers in Round 1 of playoffs) could put up 300+ yards, 2 passing TDs vs the Bucs Defense so can Brees (Hats to Heinicke by the way- hell of a performance by him last week. He’s going to be a starting QB in this league next season and is about to get a nice pay day from someone).
Now the RBs.
I’m going with Rams RB Cam Akers at $5,700, Browns RB Nick Chubb at $6,600 and Browns RB2 Kareem Hunt at $,4800 as my flex.
Why Cam?
Well for starters, Cam put up 176 total yds and a TD last week vs an improved Seattle run Defense.
Now this week, Cam’s facing a Green Bay team where their run defense is their weakest spot and with all the Rams QB injury issues still a float I expect them to run the ball heavily. Not to mention they are playing MVP front runner QB Aaron Rodgers, to which I expect the Rams to want to keep him off the field as well by utilizing the run game.
I’m also going with Chubb and Hunt from the Browns not only because they’re two of the best backs in the league, but also because they’re going up against the Chiefs 23rd ranked run defense.
The Browns run game is their greatest strength and the only way they’re going to keep Mahomes off the field.
Now for my WRs.
I’m going with Saints WR, Michael Thomas at $6,700, Buccaneers WR, Chris Godwin at $6,100, and the Chiefs WR, Tyreek Hill at $8,000.
Why these guys? (Other than they’re the top receivers in the game…)
Like I stated earlier, I think the Bucs Saints matchup will be a high scoring game… So I wanna stack Thomas and Brees together and have one of Brady’s top option on my lineup.
As for Tyreek…Speed Kills in this league and I want Mahomes best WR on my lineup (especially since they’re playing a secondary ranked 29th in the league).
And you know, if the decent receivers such as Diontae Johnson and Juju can each put up over 100 yds vs the Browns secondary, just imagine the possibilities Hill will accomplish ;)
For TE, I’m going a cheap, but reliable guy in Brown TE, Austin Hooper at $3,800.
He’s playing the 31st worst Defense vs TEs, and he’s been balling recently averaging 15 pts a game in fantasy over his last 4 games. Enough said.
Lastly, I’m going with the Rams, the Best performing and number 1 overall Defense in the NFL. With Donald likely to play this weekend this Rams Defense will give AROD & offense a run for their money.
