Both the Detroit Lions RB, D’Andre Swift and Saints kicker, Will Lutz are nursing groin injuries.
Swift has not been participating much during training camp due to his groin injury, but has enough time to be ready for week 1.
On the other hand, due to pain from his groin injury Will Lutz has decided to have surgery. Lutz is thought to return sometime in October or possilbly later depending on how his recovery from surgery goes.
In other news, the New Orleans Saints sign Brett Maher to take Will Lutz’s place while he is in recovery. Maher is currently the only kicker on the Saints roster.
Expect Swift to be ready for the season opener, but keep an eye on his progress. He is definitely still worth drafting in fantasy football. However, if you draft him I highly recommend drafting his RB handcuff Jamaal Williams just in case.
Don’t expect Lutz to be back in time to start week 1. He is a few months away from returning to his normal self. So stay away from him during your fantasy football drafts.
