4 Late Round Guys to Target in your Fantasy Football Draft

Updated: Sep 3, 2021

Draft season is here!

As everyone starts their fantasy football journey's, it's important to make sure you have a few tricks up your sleeve when it comes to drafting players and knowing who could be a late round steal for you.

So, here are some players who are going late that have the potential to ball out for you this season.

WR Michael Thomas (ROUND 7 Target)

I know he's injured right now and out at least 5 games, but this man was the fantasy football WR1 a few years ago and it wasn't a fluke.

Coming back to work for Jameis and not Brees is a bit of a concern, but for those of you willing to take a risk and snag a possible top 10 WR are going to like this pick.

Definitely aim to draft Thomas. I think Jameis is going to ball out this season and throw a lot, so if Michael Thomas can come back to any form he was and establish a decent connection with Winston, he'll be a good pick for you in Fantasy.

RB Raheem Mostert (ROUND 8 Target)

I get it no one likes a crowded backfield... but you'll want this RB on this 49ers team.

In my mind and in the 49ers mind Mostert is still their RB1.

Even though he won't be their TD back, he'll get plenty of carries.

Not only that, but he'll get the job done in the yards per carry department (Thanks to the 49ers Fantastic O-Line and Mostert's speed).

He's low mostly because he was injury prone last season and because everyone knows the 49ers switch RBs all the time. But Mostert has the pass catching ability, big play ability and the experience to lead this team's RB room. Even with the rookie, Trey Sermon at his heels, and Jeff Wilson jr clawing at the team to get more touches, I think they will still have Mostert be their guy in the backfield.

This is an opportunity you don't want to pass up. Draft Mostert.

TE Robert Tonyan (ROUND 10 Target)

This man was Aaron Rodger's 2nd go-to receiver last season.

That doesn't sound good, but if you know how Aaron works you know his top 2 receivers EAT thanks to their QB.

People are sleeping on Tonyan right now just because "Aaron Rodgers doesn't like to throw to TEs". However, this guy found a connection with one of the GOAT QBs and I don't see that changing this season.

Tonyan did his job when no other receiving option could. I think this is a great pick for those who need a late round TE. Stack him with Aaron Rodgers as your QB, you can thank me later.

QB Big Ben Roethlisberger (ROUND 13 Target)

"Ben's washed up", "Ben Sucks", "Steelers will lose the Division".

All baloney.

Ben maybe old, but you can still teach an old dog new tricks.

Kinda like teaching a guy who's known for staying in the pocket to make some of the quickest throws of any QB in the league. (Which is what they did last year).

I don't understand how "fantasy experts" think all these skill positions are going to do so hot on the Steelers and not give Ben credit for it.

I mean, rank Diontae (15th WR ), Juju (27th WR), Claypool (31st) and Najee Harris (12th RB) as some of the top players in fantasy this season and expect Ben to be outside the top 15 of QBs? How are they getting all these points? Will a ghost be throwing to them? NO! It will be Ben.

Matt Canada is putting something good together for Ben, Ben's changing his diet, and they will figure everything out.

Plus, their O-line should be ranked better too after having one of the worst rated lines in 2020 to having the 2nd best O-line during the preseason says something good about where they are headed.

Expect Ben to keep throwing the ball. They have one of the best and deepest WR rooms in the league. I think they will run a fairly balanced offense and you should expect to see good numbers from Ben.
