Bullseye Fantasy's Tips for your Fantasy Football Draft

In order for you to have a great season in Fantasy Football you must have a decent draft. This is because the draft is where you will acquire most of your best players. Basically the draft is where your Fantasy Football team is born and where your Fantasy Football season is either won or lost. This means the draft can be stressfull. To make it easier and less stressfull for you I have compiled a few tips to help you during your draft.

Draft the best player available to you:

-Take WRs and RBs, who were successful in the SEC (South Eastern Conference).

-Players who have done well in this conference seem to also have success in the NFL

-Here are some Examples: Todd Gurley, Leonard Fournette, Alvin Kamara, Derrick Henry, Kenyan Drake, Mark Ingram, Odell Beckham Jr, Julio Jones, Amari Cooper, AJ Green, Jarvis Landry, Mike Evans, etc

-2018 Rookies in the NFL who did well in the SEC to look for in this year’s draft include:

RB Darius Guice, RB Kerryon Johnson, RB Sony Michelle, RB Nick Chubb, RB Jordan Wilkins, WR Calvin Ridely, WR DJ Chark, WR Christian Kirk,

-Some of these guys such as Guice, Johnson, and Michelle should immediately make an impact in Fantasy whereas guys like Kirk, Chubb, Wilkins, and Ridley will be late bloomers/solid sleeper candidates due to the fact that they are not the number one guy on their team yet.

-Other Universities with Good Player Turnouts: Ohio State (Ezekiel Elliot, Michael Thomas), Clemson (Deshaun Watson, Sammy Watkins, DeAndre Hopkins), and Florida State (Jameis Winston, Dalvin Cook, Devanta Freeman).

Quarterbacks:

-Do not take your QB in the first 3 Rounds, instead use the first four picks  in your draft to draft  2 top RBs and 2 top WRs

-If you are taking a QB Early they better be a top 3 QB (EX:Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Deshaun Watson), if they are not in the top 3 wait for one in a later round (6th, 7th, or 8th round after this pickings will be slim)

Tight Ends:

-Unless his name is Rob Gronkowski don't draft a TE in the first 4 rounds

-If you can't get Travis Kelce, Zach Ertz, Jordan Reed, Jimmy Graham, Greg Olsen, or Delanie Walker in the 5th or 6th wait and get a guy like Jack Doyle, Kyle Rudolf, Tyler Eifert in the 10th

Kickers:

-Earliest to draft a kicker is the 11th, which  would be to get a guy like Stephen Gostkowski  probably the most consistently high scoring kicker in the league.

-Wait and get a guy on a high scoring offense such as Chris Boswell (Steelers), Will Lutz (Saints), or Matt Bryant (Falcons).

More Tips:

-Use Cheat sheets to show you all players available to you, but don't trust their rankings

-Tough decision? Go with what you know (which one likes to score more TDs, who has the better schedule, will they be spitting carries, are they their team’s Go-to-Guy or just another option, how Injury Prone are they?, etc)

-Keep track of players and make sure you know if the team they are on will work out well for them (Jordy Nelson, Brandin Marshall, Michael Crabtree),

-Also keep track of players who are suspended, injured, or highly injury prone and take them later than they normally would go (Suspended players: Julian Edelman (take in 5th round), James Winston (take in 10th round), and Mark Ingram (take in 4th round))

- If you have a good feeling, trust it.

-If you don't get the number 1 defense from last season (Jaguars) save the last pick for someone that has been decent in the past (EX:Kansas City Chiefs)  and find another one on the waiver wire that is doing well. Usually you can find the top D/ST (Defense/Special Teams) or at least a solid one on the Waiver wire in the first two weeks of the season.

-Try to fill out your Starting lineup before you take players to add on to your bench, It's your starting lineup that matters, not your bench.

-Your bench is for sleeper picks, suspended players, and players to use for your bye weeks
